Common problems with modern Ultra-low Sulfur Diesel systems are:
- Blocked injectors caused by contaminants – incorrect spray patterns cause a host of problems including loss of engine power, poor performance, excessive diesel exhaust smoke, excessive fuel consumption.
- Seized or sticking injectors due to lack of lubrication – caused by Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel, produces over-fueling which creates detonation inside the combustion chamber, which, if not corrected, will result in melted pistons.
- Noisy, rattling injectors – low inherent lubricity of Ultra Low Sulfur diesel causes diesel injectors to often operate well below specifications, and can often cause extreme engine damage.
